If you love playing competitive golf, at fabulous golf courses across the UK, you are in the best place! I believe I can provide you with good value, amazing golf courses and a fun welcoming community to compete in.
I do hope you can join me at one of my opening events this October. I have chosen to kick off the Simpson Series at my favourite course in Yorkshire and in my opinion the best, Ganton. There is just something about Ganton, every time I play there, I have a better understanding and appreciation for it. They have fabulous facilities; everything is close to hand and the golf course is just stunning. This inland links has quality turf, strategic bunkering and some awe-inspiring golf holes. I am sure I am not alone in believing Ganton is at its best in September/October, where other courses may have turned for the winter, the quality of Ganton remains in excellent condition well into November and beyond. This is a must play and well worth the travel, don’t forget to enjoy the halfway hut!
Fulford will complete my first 2-day series and is one of Yorkshire’s finest. Host to many professional tournaments, the Open qualifying series and also steeped in history from when the Benson & Hedges professional men’s event was held there, all them years ago. The famous tree by the 17th green that Bernard Langer famously played his shot from, I never get chance to look at the plaque as I’m always down the right on that hole…. Fulford is a real test of golf, from green parkland it changes into a heather lined heathland links in the middle of the course, the 10th being one of my favourite holes. Fulford have excellent facilities, again all close by and a lovely outdoor patio to sit and relax on after your round. The club is just 3 miles from the centre of York, which if you haven’t experienced is well worth a visit, plenty to see and do during the day and a fantastic nightlife.
Venturing outside of Yorkshire, to one of the best courses in the Midlands, my third event is being held at Northamptonshire County. A stunning heathland course tucked away down a quiet lane, opening to an impressive clubhouse, in a wonderful setting with fantastic facilities. Northants County is another regional Open qualifying venue and in the 6 years I have visited, it has always been in impeccable condition. With some challenging holes and playing hard and fast in the summer months, this is a true heathland test. My favourite hole has to be the par 4, 13th I like holes that are set out in front of me and stood on that tee the hole invites you to play it well. This course is centrally located, very popular with professionals and amateurs alike and well worth a visit.
I look forward to welcoming you.
